I bought a copy of The Weaker Vessel by Antonia Fraser today at a church book sale. It's a social history of women in England in the seventeenth century. I haven't read it in probably fifteen or eighteen years. It seems more interesting now, since I actually have experience in being married and having children. I have less experience with being hunted for my dowry and having to wear 17th century clothes, which tend to make people look like heaps of ruffles.
